Job Title: Process Dynamic Simulation Lead – Energy Industry

We are currently seeking a skilled Dynamics Simulation Lead to join our esteemed Energy client based in Aberdeen. This permanent position involves working on cutting-edge sustainable emission reduction projects, encompassing electrification, CCUS, Hydrogen, and optimizing existing plants, equipment, and traditional technologies through to production enhancement.
Essential skills in having either HYSYS Dynamics and/or Unisim Dynamics
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert and Technical Lead in Process Dynamic Simulation, overseeing studies from concept through to detailed design.
- Play an active role in assisting clients within the broader energy industry during their transition to Net Zero.
- Manage assignments across the energy spectrum, leading and coordinating small agile process teams.
- Engage in projects such as Compressor Start-up Sequence Validation & Surge Analysis, Process Safety Times Assessments, HIPPS design support, and water injection system surge (water-hammer) analysis.
- Produce well-written and technically accurate study reports.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Degree in Engineering, Masters, or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or a similar field.
- Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Chemical Engineers or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in executing and managing front-end and conceptual engineering studies.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using HYSYS Dynamics and/or Unisim Dynamics, along with PipeNet or similar liquid surge (water hammer) programs. -
- Understanding of process control theory and principles.
- Appreciation and understanding of flow assurance/multi-phase flow aspects (beneficial).
- Experience in coding with Python scripting (beneficial).
