We have an exciting opportunity with our UK marine client, and we're currently seeking an EC&I Engineer to join our team. This is a contract position with a rate that's based on your experience, going up to £90 per hour for highly experience principal engineers. You'll work from Monday to Friday, offering a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to work remotely with occasional visits to our client's UK sites when necessary. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting high-profile marine projects.
Key Responsibilities:
As an EC&I Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and delivering complex electrical and electronic projects
- Handling the electrical, control, and instrumentation (EC&I) aspects of marine system design while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
- Generating technical requirements for products and sub-systems, ensuring they meet customer specifications, and validating and verifying them
- Providing design support, reviewing design documentation, estimating project requirements, and contributing to tender responses
- Serving as the Technical Authority for complex multi-discipline projects
- Approving calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design documentation, and technical reports
Skills and Qualifications Required for the EC&I Engineer:
To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:
- A degree-level qualification or an HNC/HND equivalent, along with substantial experience in the relevant engineering discipline
- Ideally, membership in a relevant institution (e.g., RINA, IET, IMechE, IMarEst, etc.), and either holding or working towards Chartered or Incorporated status, or significant demonstrable engineering experience and eligibility for registration with the Engineering Council at the CEng level
- A deep understanding of the subject matter, as this role involves direct accountability for design development and problem-solving within the specialist area
- Ideally, you should have experience as a proven Principal Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer or Senior Engineer, ready to take on more responsibility, with significant experience in project oversight and the ability to mentor less experienced team members
- Proficiency in all phases of the engineering lifecycle and configuration control systems
