Responsibilities:
• Work on the implementation and delivery of design support packages for nuclear & highly regulated engineering projects
• Develop mechanical design solutions for plant and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards
• Deliver design outputs that meet client specifications for manufacturing, installation, and commissioning
• Apply design tools, techniques, and calculation packages to develop high-quality engineering solutions
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance systems
Skills and Experience required for the Designer role:
• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline (or ONC/TEC Diploma with extensive experience)
• Experience working within a design department or similar regulated industry
• Knowledge of HAZOPs, risk assessments, and design calculations
• Strong understanding of CDM regulations and industry standards
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status or willingness to work towards it
• Previous experience in a regulated work environment with quality assurance systems
• Candidates with ONC/TEC Level 3 or HNC/TEC Level 4 Diplomas and relevant experience will be considered
