FINTEC recruit is supporting to fill a permanent position for a Marine Project Manager. This role will be based in Falmouth, a permanent full time position, salary negotiable by experience. You will be support a marine operations contracting business specialising in tidal/wave energy converter installations, operations and maintenance. This is a mobile role you will be required to travel as required, expenses paid. You will also be part of the 24/7 emergency response team. Flexibility is required to be able to work evenings, weekends etc as required for essential work.
Working 5 days in 7, 12 hour shifts, flexible to suit tidal working, weekend working. Standard salary depending on experience is £40,000 to £60,000 range, negotiable.
Responsibilities:
- Working on site, managing vessel, site and field staff, suppliers and subcontractors on a daily basis as required
- Undertaking a range of specialist marine and coastal operations projects; manage all project documentation and resources
- Undertake risk assessments and method statements; able to carry out site surveys, tool box talks and overall site safety
- Assisting in acquisition, preparation of tenders, understanding contract terms for each project and communicated effectively
- Provide technical and commercial leadership as well as lead on regular HSQE risk reviews
Skills and Experience required for the Marine Project Manager role:-
- Experience of coordinating a range of resources and personnel; interface with professionals from external organisations as well as industry regulators.
- Good planning skills, managing lifecycle for projects, throughout the contract stages
- Commitment in participating in a professional development plan for further development
Essential Qualifications/Certification:
- ENG1/ML5 Medical certificate
- 5 years experience
- All elements of STCW95 training (STCW95 – EFA, PPR, FPFF, PSSR, PST)
- STCW Security Awareness
- Vessel and stability familiarisation
- Certificate of competency with endorsement
- Powerboat L2
- GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System)
- Engineering Degree Beng or Bsc
- SMSTS/IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
- Asbestos Awareness
- CPCS/NPORS Slinger Signaller
An advantage to hold:
- STCW Master Certificate of Competency*
- Prince2/APMP (Project management qualification) or equivalent
- MEOL/MCA approved engine course
- CPCS Competent Operator (blue) card
- Confined enclosed spaces
- Member of professional/chartered body
- High level of seamanship with barge, Crane and Plant Operating knowledge/ experience
