FINTEC recruit is supporting hiring for an Operations Manager for an engineering /marine business based in Barrow in Furness. This is a permanent position with salary circa £55,000 plus benefits. You will ensure that all facilities are well established with site organisation, plant, equipment, materials, management and supervision and technical information to support effective operations
Responsibilities:
- Developing site procedures and managing personnel on site with liaison with internal quality management and HSEQ department.
- Supervise a team, varied skills from administrative, trades/painting to quality control & associated supervisory and progress reports
- Establish all systems utilising the Company integrated Management System, implementing processes and procedures
- Plan project work scopes & ensure procurement & reconciliation of materials to prevent delays & best value
- Attending client meetings, liaising with other internal management, adhering to commercial policies & procedures
- Implement the risk management process, review risk register and check risk controls as they relate to the project
- Allocate HSEQ responsibilities for site personnel and provide training as necessary, ensure HSE documentation is kept up to date
- Manage site inspections, ensuring reports and audits and produce & liaison with the relevant depts.

Skills and Experience for the Operations Manager
- Experience of working within a marine or shipyard environment
- Operational experience in managing resources, quality control and HSE procedures
- Experience of managing /supervising personnel within a similar work environment
