FINTEC recruit is supporting our Renewable Energy client is sourcing Electrician Mates for a ground solar project based in the Kerry region and also in the Longford region of Southern Ireland. This will be for a project starting in May for 6 to 10 months duration. You will be self employed, CIS registered, hold a ECS card & Safe Pass Card & a Manual Handling Certificate for Ireland. If from the UK and you don’t have these, the company assist in gaining the relevant Irish certificates.
Accommodation and transport allowance is paid. You will require your own vehicle (or vehicle share) – an additional car allowance is also paid by the company. The rates of pay are £12 - £18 GDP / 14 – 20 EUR.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting qualified Electricians for connecting solar PV systems across large-scale ground-mounted sites
- Lay and secure DC/AC cabling, cable trays, and conduits in trenches or above ground as per site design and safety standards
- Support with mounting and wiring of inverters, combiner boxes, junction boxes, isolators etc
- Help with racking and panel installation, aligning and fixing solar modules to mounting structures
- Assist in trenching, backfilling and cable pulling across varying terrain, working closely with Civils and Electrical Team.
- Assist with unloading and loading of heavy materials or components (solar panels, cabling, inverters)
- Assist with fault finding and diagnostics during commissioning or maintenance
- Help with earthing systems, lighting protection installation and site grounding verification.
Skills and Experience required for the Electrician Mate roles:=
- Experience of working as an Electricians mate,
- Self employed with CIS registration (dealing with own tax)
- Experience of cabling and aware of safety standards
- Ensuring proper use of PPE and compliance with HSE and site safety rules.
- Experience of working around live systems safely, observing lockout/tagout and other electrical isolation procedures
